Latest UFO

This quilt I started over eight years ago. It was a class I took from an amazing quilter named Peggy Waltman. I had my doubts as to weather I would be able to finish it but eventually, I did.

It's called Whimsical Star and I love it!

Here is a close-up of the blocks.

Completed Pickle blocks!!!!

This block is Sandy's she is one of the new Pickle's to join our group, she thought that you had to choose the colors from the center square, so... she put PINK in hers, she was not going to do it any more and I told her her blocks would be just fine, I actually like them. And with four of them though out the quilt it will be great, besides some of the others that I received so far have Pink in them as well

Kristen's block, see she has some pink too!!!

Jenny's block, it has a little orange in it!

Potato Cheese Soup!

Hey Pickles!

Okay..so here is the potato soup recipe. Just remember...there is a reason that it tastes so yummy! Also, The first time I made it I tried to do it in the crock pot, but it didn't turn out. There isn't any short cut that I know of. It's not a hard soup to make, just takes a little while to make. This is for a double batch, which was the size pot that I made for the pickle. Here it is!

6 cups potatoes cut up
1 cup carrots cut up
1/2 cup onion
2 cups water
2 chicken bullion cubes
1 teaspoon salt
6 cups milk
12 Tablespoons flour
1 lb velveta cheese
1/2 cube butter

Heat the water with the bullion cubes, add potatoes, carrots, onions, and salt and let simmer for about 15-20 minutes to soften the potatoes and carrots. While the veggies are cooking, measure out 3 cups of milk and add 12 Tablespoons of flour to it. Mix the flour in so that there are no clumps. Then in a separate bowl measure out another 3 cups of milk. (6 cups of milk total)

After the Veggies are done, then add the 3 cups of milk that doesn't have the flour in it. Warm that slowly until it's steamy. I stir it pretty frequently, so the milk doesn't stick and burn on the bottom. Then, once it's steamy, while stirring add the 3 cups of milk that has the flour mixed in. Heat slowly stirring frequently to prevent scorching. Once that shows signs of boiling, (it takes quite a while, but I promise it will boil) just a few bubbles, turn the heat off and add the cheese and butter. It will be hot enough to melt both. Once they are melted and it's all mixed in, you're all done!

You can try it with broccoli and celery if you'd like also. Sorry if that was confusing. If it was, call me and I'll try to do a better job of explaining it!

Enjoy!

One UFP Complete!!!

I'm not sure if you all know this but one of my resolutions for the year is to finish unfinished projects that I have started, it was either that or lose weight, but why do something I can't accomplish. Any way this is a quilt that i did for my my around mothers day, I finished it all but the binding, I showed it to her for mothers day and told her I had to finish it, so there it sat until finally I put the binding on it, then I finally put a tag on it and now it is ready to go live with her once again.

She love Victorian things.

My sweet wonderful Husband got me this cute Pink Vintage child's sewing machine, and it really works!!!!! I was so very surprised on Christmas. He always does something cute like this for me most every Christmas. A couple of years ago he got me a Pink Stella Motor scooter, that one was a huge surprise, but this one is so much fun.

This is the size of it, that is just a regular size TV remote and a DVD case, its all metal too. My Husband is the best ever!

Fundraiser

Hi Guys its Kendall. I just wanted to share some things about my husband with everyone.
If you have not heard nate wrecked on his dirt bike on November 1st out at the sanddunes he was life flighted to the U of U hospital where he had 3 Surgeries on his neck ( oh yeah he broke his neck and smashed his spinal cord and is paralized from the chest down ) in the first week once he was stable he was moved to the new Intermountain houspital in Murray because the insurance wouldn't cover once he got stable. He has been doing therapy for 2 weeks and he is improving all the time. he has been so strong and amazing and hard working. he has such a positive attitude and i think and all the prayers are what have made him so stong. We don't know if he will ever be able to get any feeling back in his legs his cord was only smashed so it all depends on if the body can heel.
Well anywaise the reason i am writting this besides give everyone an up date, is my family is putting on a fundraiser. It is december 16 at Noahs in lehi. They are having dinner and a live and silent auction so if you have anything you would like to donate it would be greatly appreciated or even come down and say hi would be so great! We are also selling raffle tickets they are $5 for one or $25 for 6. First prize is a Vespa scooter, Second is a TV and sourrond sound, and third is a Laptop so there are some cool prizes I am going to put a few links on the bottom of this post in case anyone is interested. Thanks for all the support and prayers they have definatly been felt and appreciated!
