To pre-wash or not to pre-wash

So, i was always told that i need to prewash my fabric before i start a project, but a freind told me that she never pre-washes her fabric. So i am asking your opinion on the subject.

I hardly ever prewash. If I am using red and white together, I might. However, if you are buying good fabric and not the cheap stuff, you won't have as big an issue with dyes. At least I haven't.

I never never pre-wash!!! Like kellie sais if you buy good fabric you should not have a problem.
